NEW YAM CELEBRATION: RT. HON. HILARY BISONG EXTENDS WARM FELICITATIONS TO THE GOOD PEOPLE OF BEKWARRA, OBUDU
In the spirit of oneness, the Chief Whip of the Cross River State House of Assembly and Member Representing Boki II State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Hilary Ekpang Bisong, JP, FCPA has sent warm felicitations to the people of Bekwarra on the occasion of the 2024 New Yam festival celebration (Ipem Ihihie). He also convey same wishes to the people of Obudu, a neighboring LGA to Bekwarra.

While expressing love for the people, he underscored the importance of a peaceful celebration, stating that there is a historical patrilineal connectivity between communities of Cross River State and in particular, Bekwarra and Obudu.
The high ranking MP also congratulate his Bekwarra and Obudu counterparts on the occasion.
Recall that the Boki New Yam festival which is the first cultural celebration of Yam in the State, shares almost similar traditional intricacies with the others, making the celebration a lifestyle of the people.
